I honestly tear up a little every time I edit a baby announcement session. There's something about a pair of tiny pink shoes and an ultrasound photo that just stops you in your tracks — no matter how many times you've seen it.
When the Lessers reached out, they knew exactly what they wanted: something simple, something real, something that felt like them. No elaborate setups, no props that needed to be hauled out and arranged just so. Just the essentials — and a location that meant something. So we found a beautiful stretch of water, set a few things down on a rocky ledge, and let the scene speak for itself.
That white onesie with "And So the Adventure Begins" printed across the front sat next to the ultrasound strip and a pair of the tiniest pink boots I have ever seen in my life. We shot in the soft morning light, when the water was calm and everything felt still and unhurried. And that quiet — that intentional slowness — is exactly what the images feel like.
There's a reason I love detail shots like this so much. They don't need anyone in frame to tell the story — the story is already right there. A sonogram. Two little shoes. A onesie that says everything. In twenty years, the Lessers are going to look at this image and feel the exact same flutter in their chest that they felt the day they found out.
