I've photographed a lot of couples, but there's something about Noel and Drew that just makes my job easy. The way they look at each other — like the rest of the world genuinely doesn't exist — is the kind of thing you can't direct. You just have to be ready for it.
We shot their session in the last stretch of evening light, and the whole thing felt like a dream. Warm air, long shadows, and two people completely at ease with one another. No prompts needed, no awkward posing — just a couple who are deeply, quietly, entirely in love, and an evening that felt like it was made exactly for them.
That kiss on the cheek shot? I could have packed up my gear right then and called it a perfect night. There's something about that image — the way she's smiling into the camera while he leans in — that captures exactly who these two are. She's warm and radiant, he's completely devoted. Every single frame told that same story.
But we kept going, and I'm so glad we did. As the sky shifted into that deep, dusky gold just before sunset, Drew dipped Noel back in front of the fountain and just kissed her — and I honestly don't think either of them remembered I was there. That's the shot. Black and white, mid-dip, completely lost in each other with the water behind them. It might be one of my favorite single frames of the entire year.
